Melanie Hunter is the behind-the-scenes engine that keeps Hunter-N-Associates running strong. As our Vice President of Operations, she makes sure everything is organized, on time, and done with care—whether it’s scheduling, budgeting, team support, or making sure our clients have the best possible experience. With over 20 years of experience in project management, client services, research oversight, professional training, and education, Melanie is a seasoned leader committed to boosting organizational efficiency, delivering high-impact client services, and advancing professional development across sectors.

With a strong foundation in clinical and behavioral research, Melanie has served in senior roles at nationally recognized research institutions such as Advarra IRB and Chesapeake IRB, where she became a recognized Subject Matter Expert (SME) in client services and federal compliance related to human subjects’ protection. Her leadership has included everything from training and mentorship of staff to contract negotiation and development of operational initiatives. She’s recognized not only as a strategic thinker and hands-on leader, but also for her deep commitment to people and making a meaningful impact in the community.

Melanie’s early career was rooted in education and workforce development, with a strong focus on supporting individuals with disabilities. She worked with nonprofit organizations dedicated to helping adults with disabilities gain employment and achieve greater independence. Additionally, she served as a Special Education Coordinator in Baltimore City’s public school system, where she specialized in compliance, individualized education planning, and fostering meaningful family engagement. Her work has always been about helping others succeed—whether it’s a team member, a client, or someone in the community.

Melanie holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University Maryland and graduated summa cum laude from University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. She’s also a Certified IRB Professional, a Notary Public and has been nationally certified in human subjects’ research protections for over a decade.

Today, Melanie leads with a commitment to excellence and a heart for service. She believes that strong communities are built through trust, access, and meaningful engagement—and she’s proud to support that vision every day at Hunter-N-Associates.
